The primary tenet of the BSAC is promoting education in the science of Astronomy through public outreach.
To further our stated purpose, each year the Big Sky Astronomy Club hosts several public outreach events around the Flathead Valley. Events include star parties, workshops, seminars and observing of special astronomical occurrences (such as comets, transits, solar and lunar eclipses, etc.).
Over the years, the Big Sky Astronomy Club has provided star parties and astronomy workshops for such diverse groups as the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, elementary, middle and high school classes, other non-profit organizations as well as the residents of a local assisted living center. If your group would be interested in having the BSAC provide you a special program, please feel free to drop us a line. These services are provided free of cost.

BSAC 2023 Club Meetings & Events Calendar
CLUB MEETINGS RESUME JUNE 2023!
With the danger due to the Covid Pandemic waning, the BSAC is happy to announce resumption of our regular monthly meetings, beginning June 16.
Meeting dates have changed from the Friday nearest the New Moon (as it has been for years) to the thrid Friday of each month.
We are also happy to announce that we will be assisting Glacier National Park with three Logan Pass Star Parties this summer!
In addition, we will be celebrating the designation of Lost Trail National Wildlife Refuge as an official International Dark Sky Association Dark Sky Sanctuary with a public star party on July 22! Please come join us at any or all of these public events and enjoy observing through our telescopes under some of Montana's darkest skies.

There will be no August club meeting due to the Logan Pass Star Party scheduled for that night.

BSAC Club Meetings
The Big Sky Astronomy Club meets monthly on the third Friday of the month. Our meetings are held at the West Valley Volunteer Fire Department located at 2412 Farm-To-Market Road, 6 miles northwest of Kalispell. Meetings begin at 7 PM.
